Check an address

Catch format mistakes and checksum errors before opening your wallet.

LOCAL CHECK

Never enter a private key or recovery phrase. This checks formats, not balances or ownership.

Try an example:Examples are for testing, not receiving funds.
A format check is not a transfer approval. Confirm the exact asset and network with the recipient. A valid address can still belong to the wrong person or an unsupported network.

Useful tools should be easy to reach.

No paywall. No premium tier. If ChainKit helped, share it or leave an optional tip.

A worked token-unit example

Convert 1.25 tokens into 1,250,000 units.

For a token with six decimal places, the conversion is exact: 1.25 × 1,000,000 = 1,250,000 smallest units. This is arithmetic, not a lookup of a real token.

  1. Choose the Token units tab and Token amount → smallest units.
  2. Set decimal places to 6, enter 1.25, and choose Convert exactly.
  3. Expect 1250000. In the reverse direction, the same integer and decimal setting produce 1.25.

Verify the decimal setting against the exact token contract and network. ChainKit does not fetch balances, determine token decimals or submit transactions.

Before any transfer

Three things to confirm.

  1. The recipient. Obtain the address through a trusted channel, not a lookalike entry in your transaction history.
  2. The asset and network. Both sender and recipient must support the same token on the same network. An EVM address alone cannot identify that network.
  3. The full destination. Compare every character and check the final confirmation in your wallet. Consider a small test transfer when appropriate.

Clear answers. Clear limits.

Does a passing check mean an address is safe?

No. ChainKit validates address syntax and checksums. It does not query blockchains, check balances, identify scams, verify who controls an address, or verify an exchange’s deposit support. Ethereum/EVM and TRON Base58Check are supported; Bitcoin, Solana, ENS names and payment URIs are not.

Where does my data go?

Tool inputs stay in this tab’s memory. Tool input is never uploaded. Optional anonymous action counts are sent only after permission; no cookies or visitor IDs. Measurement details. The hosting provider may log ordinary page and asset requests. Clicking an external reference opens that other site. Reloading clears your inputs.

Why is ChainKit free?

This is an independent First Fold project supported by voluntary donations. Every feature works without paying. Donations do not buy a service or guarantee future features.

Can I use it for a real transaction?

Use it as one check alongside your wallet and the recipient’s instructions. It does not connect to wallets, create transactions or sign anything. These utilities are not a guarantee against financial loss.

Which standards does it use?

Ethereum case checks follow EIP-55. TRON checks follow its Base58Check address format. Hashing uses noble-hashes and encoding uses scure-base. QR codes contain the address only; select the network yourself.
